Australia Gets Laser Pointers Banned

Here is a short prehistory:

"THOUSANDS of high-powered laser pointers are already circulating in Australia, making efforts to ban them problematic despite concerns that they are highly dangerous when directed at aircraft.

No one has been arrested for using a laser pointer in Australia.

The current maximum penalty for unauthorised use of a laser pointer is a fine of $30,000 or two years in prison.

Peter Somerville, of the Australian and International Pilots Association, said the new regulatory regime should put the onus on those found in possession of powerful lasers to prove they are being used for legitimate purposes, such as astronomy."

Those High Powered Lasers going to be banned on 3 May in Australia.

It's cool to point it into the sky to stars, to use it for astronomy etc. But do not point this Green And Red Lasers to Aircrafts!

So go get a bunch of them before they all get banned, law will even ban Laser Pointer Keychains too!
